Sharon Morginstin Cohn of West Orange, NJ, extraordinary wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher and friend, lost her courageous 15 year battle with breast cancer on June 25, 2022 at age 54. A Brooklyn girl through and through. Sharon was born in Bensonhurst, on July 27th, 1967 to Beatrice and Harry Morginstin. Sharon attended Yeshiva of Flatbush for Elementary & High School and Brooklyn College, excelling always as a gifted student with a beautiful voice and a beaming smile.
Sharon met the love of her life and best friend Joshua Cohn on a blind date and never looked back. Josh proposed to Sharon on Heartbreak Hill while running the 100th Boston Marathon. Their love never wavered and this past December they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Sharon was an adored kindergarten teacher at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, New Jersey where she shared her profound love of children and deep passion for Judaic studies. She worked tirelessly to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for each of her beloved students.
Sharon’s greatest legacies are her three beautiful, kind and compassionate children, Rebecca, Abby and Zachary Cohn.
In addition to her husband and children, Sharon is survived by her mother, Bea Morginstin, her brothers Stuart Morginstin (Caryn) and Jason Morginstin, her mother-in-law, Sylvia Cohn, sister-in-laws, Melissa Cohn, Priscilla Karnovsky (Dan), Liza Cohn (Bill Wallach), brother-in-law Tad Cohn, nieces and nephews Jackie Wachtel (Josh), Gabi Houri (Sam), Jonathan Morginstin (Tai), Sarah Alvarez, Samantha Paprin, Sydney Karnovsky, Nicholas Karnovsky, Benjamin Wallach and Gus Wallach, 8 great-nieces and nephews and her dearly devoted friends, Cindi, Joanne, Shari and Sarah.
