Sheila Fischgrund peacefully passed away on August 18, 2020, surrounded by her family. Born May 28, 1938 in Hillside, NJ. She graduated from Hillside High School in 1955. In June 1959, she graduated from New Jersey State Teachers College (Kean University), where she received a full scholarship for academic excellence.
She started and operated Sheila’s Tins in Montclair, New Jersey for many years, and
obtained an Appraisal Certification from Yeshiva University in New York City. In addition to tins, she loved collecting silver card cases, crystal paperweights, crystal ink wells, antique books, and diamonds, “they go with everything,” she said.
Sheila loved playing tennis and traveling with her “sweetheart” Milton. She and her late husband Milton traveled the world from Europe to Africa and to all the National Parks, adding to her many collections along the way.
Due to her kind heart, humor and compassion, she made friends wherever she went. She was loved and cherished by everyone who knew her and will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Milton L. Fischgrund. She is survived by three children, David Kane (Wendy), Alisa Berkman (Michael), and Stacy Klein (Ron); 10 grandchildren: Sydney, Victoria, Cameron and Trevor Kane, Ilana and Sam Berkman, Clayton and Cassidy Greenzeig, and Simone and Ellis Klein.
