Sheldon William Newman passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the age of 95 in Maplewood, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Eva and Carl Newman and was the youngest of two brothers. He married Helene Brenda Ripling in 1968.
Shelly had a distinguished 50-year career in marketing research. Prior to retirement, he worked approximately 20 years at Pfizer as Director, Marketing Research Consumer Health Care Division. Shelly lived a full life, filled with many friends that he and Helene made throughout their travels, restaurant and theater trips, an in their various synagogue communities.
Shelly was survived by his beloved wife Helene and his two sons Brian (married to Colleen Newnan) and Mark (married to Lisa Gonzalez) and two grandsons – Elliot and Jacob.
The family will be receiving guests at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, located at 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, New Jersey, on November 28, 2025, from 10:15 am to 10:45 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at B'nai Abraham Memorial Park, 2600 US-22 STE E, in Union, following the funeral service.
