Another year of missing you….mostly Wednesdays in the afternoon…remembering our time together for so many years.  A now, as I surely miss you, I focus on how grateful I am for the way you helped me become who I am today.  Thank you, Stu!

Another year gone. Boy do I miss you! What would Stu say? He would tell me that I know what to do and to trust myself. I just wish I was hearing that in person. Rest easy Stu. Your legacy lives on in all of us. Thank you for 25 years of you.

Hello, Stu.  Today is always a rotten day for me.  It is the day I lost one of my favorite and most supportive people in my life.  Everything went wrong today, and I found myself thinking "What would Stu say?" all day long.  Thankfully, you spent 25 years talking to me and laughing with me, so I pretty much knew what you would say.

I miss you so much.  But I also think of you every morning when reciting my daily gratitude list.  Thank you for making my life so much better and keeping it real.  I love you and hope that you can see all of the good you did for so many people.  Rest easy, my friend.  Katie

I can’t believe it has been 5 years since I sat across from Stu, opening up and sharing my deepest thoughts with him. I truly miss him and thank him every day for helping me realize my worth  and my ability to feel happiness.  

I cannot believe it has been 5 years already.  Stu, I think of you every morning before I start my day, and I continue to think of you throughout the day.   I like to think of you so comfortably 'flopped' in your chair and laughing!  Thank you for impacting and enriching my life so fully.  I miss you so much.

I cannot believe it has been four years.  I think of Stu daily and I speak of him to others all the time.  I miss him more than I can say, and I hope he is watching over all of us peacefully.  Rest well, my friend.  I love you.

Another year has passed...and I still have a hole in my heart...missing Stu.  His guidance was  clear, strong and easy to follow. He gave me strength which still abounds inside of me and leads me straight ahead on a good path.  It has been a tough 2 years for me medically, have another surgery in a month, but emotionally it has been untenable at times. At those times I think of Stu and keep my promise to him that I will soldier thru whatever God throws at me...and I will.   My condolences to his family as another year has passed without him. 

As Stu's Memorial page popped up in my notices asking if I would like to share a memory close to Stu's angelversary, I could not keep scrolling past it. Of course I would. As someone who has known loss, and 6 years later, am able to write this, finding joy in life and and meaning because of a man who had a strong responsibility for it.  He was truly one of the great ones. His words of encouagement. How he challanged me to be real. And how he called me out when i wasn't.  How fortunate his family is to have had this man in thier lives. He was a wonderful therapist and he truly is missed here on earth. Bless you and Keep you until you meet again.   Geri

I have just learned of Stu's passing today.   It is a terrible blow to know he is gone.  As so many here have already said, he made an enormous difference in my life--so much so that it's impossible to describe.  I would not be who I am today and would not have the same strength or freedom to choose happiness.  I think of him so often, it's like his voice is part of my psyche.  I  owe him so much.  We shared our writing with one another and his was wonderful--his characters and insights gave me hope for humanity.  And his critiques of my writing were tough and honest in the same way that he kept me seeing straight in life.  I was a better coach, athlete, friend, writer, adult child to my parents and partner to my boyfriend because of Stu's kindness, patience,  perceptiveness and intelligence.  There is so much more to say and none of it would be adequate.  But, to his family, please accept my sincere and belated condolences.  Clearly, so many people have lost one of the best friends and guides in the world.  But what a wonderful legacy he has left us all.

I am just finding out about Stu's passing and completely heartbroken. I have thought about Stu often and had wanted to make an appointment just to catch up. He helped me through rough times and I enjoyed our weekly chats about everything and anything. I loved hearing about his grandchildren, his vacations him and his wife would be planning and mostly about new recipes he was going to try, had tried or which ethnic food he was going to make for Passover or other holidays. He would print the recipes for me of the ones that came out amazing and he always seemed excited to share them with me. Stu wasn't just a doctor, he had become family and I can't believe he is gone. What a tremendous loss for his family and everyone that knew him.  I will never forget him and everything he taught me. He will be greatly miss..   I will never stop looking for him as I walk on the boardwalk I'm Long branch..

I am just finding out about Stu's passing now. I am truly heartbroken. Stu helped me and my kids though some of the toughest times in my life and offered such wonderful advice. I will always be indebted to him for that. I can still see him in his recliner with his cup of tea. He was a true mensch and one of the nicest men I have ever met. My sincere condolences to his wife Patti and his family.

To stu's family, my most sincere condolences.  Stu helped me tremendously over the years. The last time, when I lost my son, in 2013. I again reached out to him. It was as if I was getting in touch with an old friend. The kind that really got you. I was looking up his info for another mother who has just lost her child. I saw the shocking news of his passing.  It did shake me. He wasn't just a man who sat with his tea and toast in his cozy reclyner chair for an hour. He was humanity extending a hand and a heart along with a listening ear. He would then help to help me navigate life. I will truly be greatful to this man who helped me find life again and hold on in my darkest moments after losing my 23 year old son. Rest easy Stu. And thank you.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of Stu... "what would Stu say?  I feel that there is a chunk of my being---missing--- forever and never will be filled.  For over 30 years I sat across from him and together  we made sense of my upbringing and how it formed my adulthood and how slowly and surely we took me apart and  put me back together to be a successful and truly happy person. Words cannot express how he truly saved my life.  I am forever indebted to him.  My condolences to his family.

Judy, I can't figure out how to respond to you, so I hope you see this!  I' glad Stu was able to help you--he helped everyone he met.  I think of him every day and am incredibly sad that he is gone.  I'm looking for someone new, but who can ever measure up?  I spend most of my time thinking 'what would Stu say?'  I am well thanks to Stu and I hope you are doing well also. I am so sad to hear of Stu's passing.  He truly was one of the most wonderful people I had the pleasure of meeting.  As a therapist, he helped more than I ever expected; it was like sitting with a friend.  His work and example pushed me to pursue my Masters degree in the related field of Social Work.  My condolences to his family and friends.  I am sure he has touched the lives of many others as he touched mine.

He truly saved my life and many others with his passion for empathy and delight in his joy for life.  On behalf of me, my family and many friends I would like to extend my condolensces to his family.  His ticket to heaven was punched many years ago.

I just heard of Dr.Tuckman,s passing.I feel blessed,lucky to have had the privilege of sitting across from him like sitting with an old friend spilling out my troubles.No one will ever know how he helped shape my life.I meet him when I was 12 on amboy ave he was with Rutgers.I off and on threw my life reached out and he was alway there.His unique way of cutting threw the bull, his what I hear you saying.I will miss him deeply.I offer my heart felt sorrow to his family.He was such a great person.

I am so shocked to hear about Stu 's passing.  He was my mentor and has enabled me to help so many others as he did.  His style and caring was amazing and he and everything I learned from him will be with me and passed onto others forever.  Thank you Stu for the life that I now have:)

I am truly sorry to learn about the passing of Stu Tuckman. I'm devastated. He was my personal savior, plain and simple. He was a lifeline that I could never imagine losing. Words cannot express how grateful I will always be to Stu, and I was lucky enough to tell him that in person. My deepest sympathies go to Stu's family that I know he loved so much. Stuart Tuckman was the best person I have ever known and will remember him dearly for the rest of my life. It is with a very heavy heart that I say goodbye dear Stu. And thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am just finding out about this today.  He was my lifeline.  He understood more things about me than what I thought was really going on.  He was my guidance, my inner voice, and my respite from my otherwise unhappiness.  I wish I could truly express to someone everything that he did for me and meant to me.  His dedication to his family and grandchildren was always inspiring.  My heart goes out to the family and I hope they know, JUST how special a person he was.  I feel for you during your time of loss.

To your family Stu, I thank you for sharing him with us. 36 years ago we met in his office at UMDNJ. I was 12 years old. Through out my life he has been a guiding light of truth and strength. I cannot express how shocked and saddened I am by this news.  Stu helped me over and over and over for more than 20 years.  He helped me and taught me so much, that when something would happen in my life I would always ask myself "What would Stu say?"  And I was usually able to work through the problem on my own. I just enjoyed seeing him and laughing with him even when he was pointing out how obviously stupid I was being!  I love you, Stu.  I will miss you and there will be a hole in my heart forever.

Words cannot express how saddened we are by Stus passing.  He had a way of looking at life that few could understand.   His time here on earth touched the lives of so many and now heaven has gained a true angel.  We will miss you Stu, but look forward to seeing you again someday!

I am devastated to learn about the loss of Stu. He was my person guru, he even saved my life once or twice. He was by far the most giving, wonderful, honest man I have ever met. He loved his life, his family and well, I could go on and on. I wish his family the very best thru this very difficult time.  He will be greatly missed

What a kind and wonderful gentlemen.  I am very sad to hear of his passing.  He lived to make sure everyone was happy! What a great loss! But I am so very thankful to have known him.. he made many of my darkest days .. brighter with his sunshine. You will be greatly missed by all:(

I was so very saddened to hear that Poppy Stu had passed away. What an amazing devoted grandfather and father amongst many other things. I spent years chatting with Stu on the PDS lacrosse sidelines as he cheered on his grandchildren. He never missed a game... Outdoor, indoor, rain, freezing cold or shine. He even attended the summer lax tournaments in many states. His presence was huge. He was friendly, funny, and kind. He was also prepared. He always had an extra sweatshirt to offer up on a cold day. I always looked at him as just "one of us parents". In reality he was for it was his son Rob who was leading up the team as head coach. I know that Stu will be dearly missed by many. He leaves those that loved and miss him the most with an INCREDIBLE legacy of what it means to be an involved grandparent and father. It was so obvious that spending time with his family was most important to him. I send my deepest condolences to the entire Tuckman family. My heart feels heavy. May his memory be for a blessing.
