
Susan Stifelman passed away on June 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. Susan was eight days shy of her 88th birthday. Susan was born in Brooklyn, New York to Ruth and Spencer Ross (deceased). She is survived by her brother Frank (Ethel), her daughter, Jamie (Jim) her son, David (Jeanne) and her son Michael (Jill) and eight grandchildren, Susan was predeceased by her loving husband Frank.
Susan was born in Brooklyn, lived for a short time in Rhode Island and then settled in South Orange, New Jersey, where she was raised and attended Columbia high school in Maplewood. She attended Syracuse University as an art major and came back to New Jersey to marry her husband Frank and worked at Saks Fifth Avenue to support him as he attended law school.
She was a creative and curious person. Susan was a fixture at the South Orange Public library, borrowing seven books at a time often reading several in one week. She continued her curiosity throughout her life and when moving to Florida, she took classes at the local community college. After living at Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club in Palm City for for over 30 years she moved to Brightview in Wayne, NJ she continued her lifelong learning, listening to lectures offered by Brightview on a variety of subjects.
Susan was also a social butterfly and made friends wherever she was. She enjoyed canasta, rummicube, golf, traveling and a fierce game of mahjong.
Family receiving guests will be held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey 07039, on June 25, 2026, from 10:15 am to 10:45 am.

Burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge Township, New Jersey 07095, on June 25, 2026, at 12:45 pm.
