Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave., on Saturday, February 20, at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Raphael’s Church in Livingston. The Entombment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Born in Campobasso, Italy, Umberto settled in Newark in 1955. He lived in East Orange before moving to West Orange in 1967.
He was employed with the sheet metal workers union of Gannett Outdoors in Fairfield for 40 years retiring many years ago.
He was the beloved husband of the late Luciana (nee Sciarretta) Colavita, loving father of Joanne Nastasi, cherished grandfather of Nick Nastasi and Monica Nastasi, and uncle to many nieces and nephews in Rome,Italy.
