Adam Charles Mitchell was born to his late parents Charles and Anna Mitchell on July 3, 1945. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary (Mininni) of 51 years as well as his three children Kimberly (Robert), David (Kim) and Paul. He also had three grandchildren Anthony (18), Emily (16) and Justin (15) who were the light of his life. Adam Graduated from Dearborn Fordson and Wayne State University. He was also very active in St. Edith Parish.
Adam spent 39 years working in the Livonia Public Schools as a teacher and Counselor. He then kept working as a substitute teacher right up until the time of his passing. Adam was also beyond active in the Hockey World, working for such organizations as U of M Dearborn, the Detroit Red Wings, Little Caesars Youth Hockey and most recently Livonia Stevenson Hockey where he was simply known as "Herb". He was a fighter for the game, for the players that played it and for the families that lived it.
There is simply no stating the impact that this man had on people's lives. As a family man, as an educator and as a hockey person. If you were in Livonia Public Schools in the past 50 years, odds are you ran across or heard of Adam Mitchell, and if possible that paled in comparison to his achievements and his impact on the world of Hockey. So many people from those very young up to those who were professional were impacted in some way by Adam Mitchell. Words or numbers alone cannot do justice to the number of people that were influenced by this man. With a presence unlike no other, and a voice to match, he lit up a room, he inspired others to be better and he fought for the good. He ALWAYS would give, give and give... to his students, to his players and to his family. He ALWAYS put others first. He just had that "gift" that will never be replaced but will forever live on in spirit of all the lives he touched. Such a great man, such a great person, there will never be another Adam Mitchell.
