Allen was the devoted father of Daniel (Kim) Hart, Richard (Dawn) Hart, and Nicholas (Laura) Hart. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Delaney, Nathaniel, Gabriella, Teagan, and Giuliana Hart, all of whom brought him great joy. Allen was the beloved son of Gladys Hart and the late Richard Hart, and the dear brother of Gwynne (Eloy) Gutierrez and Robert (Sally) Hart.
Allen started work at Holley Carburetor shortly after graduating high school but was drafted into the US Army only a couple of months later. After spending two years at Fort Hood in Texas, he returned home and returned to work at Holley where he remained for the next 20 years. Several engineering jobs between Michigan and Tennessee followed until his ultimate retirement in 2006.
In the years that followed, Allen found happiness in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved tending to his garden, spending time creating woodworking projects, and growing his coin collection over the years. He enjoyed challenging himself with puzzles and was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. And he looked forward to his 5 p.m. martini. A loyal fan of University of Tennessee football, Allen looked forward to cheering on the Volunteers each season.
More than anything, Allen treasured his family. The memories he created, the love he shared, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
