My condolences to Andy’s friends and family. I did not know him well personally, but I was his next door neighbor for 9 years. He was always kind and friendly. 💕

My daughter Sara was Andy’s neighbor although I did not personally know Andy he looks like a beautiful soul who was very loved. May he Rest In Peace ,   Lisa Shelest 

Will miss this beautiful soul. His kindness radiated everywhere he went.  The world is a little dimmer without him in it.  He will forever be missed.  Prayers for healing to everyone hurting.

As we planned Andy's memorial, we worried we would have enough pictures to let people know how wonderful this big beautiful man was.  Silly us. The outpouring  of love these last few days has been overwhelming. The memories you  have sent along with our own 
will help us through many sad days and many more happy ones.
Please remember, as much as you loved Andy, he loved you!!!

I love Andy and know that I am very lucky to have had the friendship I had with him. He was kind, smart, so much fun, and always there for me. 

Growing up, you could find us playing hockey, football, basketball, or softball, or engrossed in Halo, or watching a B movie, or going to concerts. The last few years we would meet up every month or so at our "little Italian joint" (aka pizza place) to catch up. Lots of sage advice and plenty of banter passed at these meet-ups. I loved hanging out with Andy and he was the best of friends through it all. There won't be a day when I won't miss him. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who knew and loved him.

One of the best humans I've ever known. One of the best friends I've ever had. Always laughed when he was around. He always made you smile. We had so many good times together. From midnight sledding to Halloween in Grand Rapids. The many baseball games we went to in Detroit and out of state. The best memories of my life have you in it. Such a heartbreaking loss. Rest well dear friend. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your son. Parents are not supposed to outlive their children. May your Goosa Rest In Peace, and may you in time find comfort in your memories.

Andy and my son Alan met in kindergarten 31 years ago. They have been close friends ever since.  Andy was truly one of the best people I have ever known. I loved him and will miss him very much. I am heartbroken for Andy's family. Andy and his family are in my prayers.  Marian Tyler

Goosa was the nicest and most generous friend a person could ask for.  Were so lucky to have great memories dating back to Friday Football back in high school, to Poker nights, playing Softball, Bar Trivia (unbelievable trivia player), to just hanging out watching wrestling and football games.  Even letting our son Russell constantly climb on him and pull on his beard. Goosa will be forever missed 

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your son Andrew.  Even though we can’t be there, you and your family are in our prayers.

We have so many special memories together that I will always cherish. He was such a fun travel companion; we went on so many trips together.  I will never forget our road trip across California in my uncomfortably tiny car.  His smile was infectious and he had a great sense of humor. He was always so thoughtful and generous.  I know many are understandably devastated by this loss. May we all find comfort in the precious time we had with him. 

All I know is that I cherish the man with the full beard in this picture! He loved the people he loved SO much and being his friend, one of those people he loved, was special. He was thoughtful to a fault, he remembered my birthday without the help of Facebook. He was not only a friend to hang out with and have a fun time with, he was also a friend who cared how you were doing and what was going on in your life. I will miss his humor, how he would make us all laugh so easily, and his intelligence, I always learned something new when Goosa was in the room, but most of all I will miss his heart. 

Andy was a great guy! When I started working for the city a little over five years ago he was there to guide me and teach me a lot of things I did not know. he was always kind to me and we share the love of sports. You will be missed Andy!

I’m so incredibly sorry for the loss of this man. He was one of the greats. Our hearts are so broken and we will miss him so much. I loved him fiercely, though I wish I had seen him more often. Everyone who met him appreciated his genuinely kind, fun, smart nature. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I’m so sorry for your loss. 

Andrew was a loving and kind person who never hesitated to help or bring a smile. He had the most beautiful hazel eyes of anyone on earth. He was a fun cousin, uncle and son. He won the last pot. He will be missed by all who knew him and may he rest well. 


I will miss you so much, and I will miss losing to you in Catan, Monopoly, and poker. I hope you rest easy.
