

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend whose life was centered around faith, family, and a deep love of learning.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Prine; her parents, Leo and Elizabeth; her siblings Betty, Eugene, Patrick, June, Frances, and Darlene; and her son-in-law, Matthew Neumeier.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Annmarie Neumeier (Ed Garvey) and Donald Prine. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ruthie (Jeremy) Guterl, Emilie Neumeier, Matthew Neumeier, and Lily Neumeier, and a cherished great-grandmother to Wendy Guterl. Ann is also survived by her sister, Judy (Charles) Swartz, along with many nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Liz Clor, who visited her often and brought her great comfort.
Ann held dear friendships throughout her life, including Paula and Bob Pheiffer and their family, as well as many friends at Rose Senior Living Center and was deeply appreciative of the compassionate care she received from Tina and the rest of the dedicated staff.
Education and teaching were Ann’s lifelong passions. She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School in Ruth, Michigan, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Madonna College and Eastern Michigan University. Ann began her teaching career in Bad Axe, Michigan where she taught 7th grade and was a newspaper advisor. She later joined the Novi School District, where she taught reading and 1st grade at Orchard Hills before retiring. Ann was especially passionate about helping children learn to read, and her dedication left a lasting impact on countless students. In recent years, Ann was an active member of the book club at St. Kenneth Parish and participated in making rosaries at The Rose. A devoted parishioner of St. James in Novi, her faith was a guiding force throughout her life.
Above all, Ann treasured time spent with her family. She took great pride in teaching all four of her grandchildren how to read, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, unwavering dedication to others, and the love she shared so freely.
Ann’s legacy of faith, education, and family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10am (in state 9:30am) at St.James Catholic Church: 46325 W 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48374.
