Arthur proudly and honorably served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. As a Vietnam veteran, he carried a deep sense of patriotism and dedication throughout his life.
On October 22, 1994, Arthur married the love of his life, Catherine. Together they built a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. One of their greatest joys was rescuing animals, especially the older and often overlooked pets who deserved a second chance. Arthur was a devoted husband and a proud pet dad whose heart was always open to those in need.
Arthur was unapologetically himself, a true character with a larger-than-life personality that those who knew him will never forget. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing, fishing, and adding to his coin collection. Never one to shy away from a project, he proudly spent much of the last year building a backyard shed with his own hands. Arthur also took great pride in his beloved Ford F-150, which he was always upgrading and maintaining. It was one of his greatest possessions and a reflection of his love for hard work and craftsmanship.
Arthur will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Catherine; his many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and his several siblings and step-siblings. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Walter and Grace Kingsley.
Arthur's family invites all who knew and loved him to celebrate his life. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, with a Memory Sharing service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Arthur will lie in state on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Road, Livonia, Michigan, immediately followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made in Arthur's memory to Michigan Humane or Gift of Life Michigan, honoring his lifelong compassion for animals and his desire to help others.
Though Arthur has left this world, his unwavering love for his family, his loyal companions, and the life he built will remain a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
