Basem will lie-in-state at the Basilica of St. Mary (18200 Merriman Rd. in Livonia) on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 10-11am. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Mary's Building Fund.
The clergy and parishioners at the Basilica of St. Mary extend their deepest sympathy to his wife of 51 years, Janine George, children Michael (Melanie) George, David (Andrea) George, grandchildren Lucas, Abigail, Elliana, Lyra and Sophie, his siblings late Sami George, Jannette (late Shawky) Mousa, late Anis (Salwa) George, Rimon (the late Suad) George, Siham (late Salah) Salah, the late Anwar (Susan) George, many nieces and nephews, and the entire George family.
