Caitlyn was one of the most kindhearted and lovely girls I’ve ever known. She was in so many of my childhood memories that I’ll forever hold onto. I’ll never forget her contagious and beautiful laugh and smile! 
I am praying for your family through this extremely difficult time. 

I remember quick grabbing my camera to video this moment because they were having so much fun dancing.  And of course, our girls are together front and center!

No matter how many times she took a foot in the face (or in the boob), Caitlyn never let Ann hit the floor. I love this video. She is the picture of joy and enthusiasm. What more could you want from a cheerleader? And loud, so loud... <3

Sweet angel Caitlyn. This is the unimaginable. I met Caitlyn before teaching at PCA, she attended my Musical Theatre summer workshop. She sang “Somewhere That’s Green” and it was so beautiful, in sound and in interpretation. Caitlyn’s passion was always at the maximum level. She practiced more than anyone. She loved the art. She loved others with her whole heart.

We miss you, Caitlyn, with our whole hearts. God be with you, Bruce and Tonya, and know that Matt and I’s prayers are ascending and that we are so, so sad.

Bruce and Tonya, my heart goes out to you. I can't begin to understand this or find the words that could possibly comfort you from this great loss. I have been just sick at heart for you. This is such a huge loss.. 
Caitlyn  to me will always be the sweet little three year old angel in our Sunday School class 💖. 

Caitlyn was always so welcoming and sweet. I remember her having the best hugs and a huge heart for others. I will always cherish the times we shared in cheer and theater. I am praying for you all as you grieve. She will be so deeply missed. 

I remember Caitlyn Rose when she was in Gophers the equivalent to  Awana cubbies, she was so cute and very quiet. I also volunteered in her second and third grade classes at PCA and she was just a gem. 

When Caitlyn Rose was about six I remember asking Bruce why they didn’t have another one and he said well, we already have a perfect one, why would we want another one?

Caitlyn was such a delightful and tenderhearted person.  It was a joy and honor to have known her and to have been her teacher.  She was and still is dearly loved by so many whose lives she touched and changed.  May our Comforter hold you in His everlasting arms as you grieve her loss and miss her!  

Caitlyn actively served others - here volunteering to be the waitress in her German 1 restaurant role play.  She took her table’s order, served them and took their “payment” in German!  

It was an honor and delight to have Caitlyn in German class at PCA!  She was such a tenderhearted and compassionate person who genuinely cared for others. I used to love singing with the German classes, and whether it was Christmas carols, the Nativity Play (in which she played an angel), or any other occasion, I could always count on her beautiful voice to lead us!

Caitlyn and her group participated in our annual “Schnitzeljagd” scavenger hunt in Frankenmuth.  She always had a smile on her face and brought fun and joy to those around her.

Caitlyn always made me feel so welcome when I joined choir and cheer senior year. She was a big reason I learned to love choir and looked forward to going. I remember her helping me learn the cheer routines and never making me feel bad about messing up. She was the most welcoming and helpful friend anyone could ask for.  

I  want to share one of my fondest memories of Caitlyn. I believe it was her first year in Arbor song. Dr Altevogt decided to give us this ridiculous hard song called “sing joyfully” by William Bryd. We were the only two alto 2 in choir and we both struggled for weeks. I got certain parts and she got other parts. Honestly we had a good partnership with that song. We always laughed when we got to this certain part. The lyrics were “blow the trumpets in the new moon” because honestly that was the only part of the song we actually knew. We both were so hesitant and quiet every time we sang the song until we got to the one part of the song and I gotta say Caitlyn went full out on the part we knew. Long story short we get to the week of the performance our last practice we finally get the song and know our part. We get to the performance and we start in the wrong key and it was honestly a train wreck, but we turned to each other after the song was over and said “but we rocked it and knew our part” gave eachother a high five and laughed. Its definitely a “you gotta be there” moment. I could go on and on about storys from choir and Arborsong. Another one was we had this full Gospel song. Ill admit it im more of an traditional organ gal especially back then, but Caitlyn everytime we sang that song. She felt the spirit. She was fully into that song she needed to teach me how to sing a song with just lyrics. I’m more of a read sheet music person. That took her forever to show me how to get out of my shell and just sing and enjoy it. Another time was when we went to potbellys she was just fully belting and singing “the Schuyler Sisters” from Hamilton on in my car. It was truly an honor to sing with Caitlyn for so many years in Concordia Choir and Arborsong. I can’t explain how grateful I am to get to know her with choir, being her suite mate for a year, and game nights. I’m going to miss you Caitlyn.

Or the time she was in my car and going full out to “the Schuyler Sisters” from Hamilton after getting Potbelly. It was an honor to sing in Concordia choir and Arborsong with her for so many years. 

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful sweet girl. I have some good memories of you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I just can’t even imagine.

Caitlyn was such a kind and caring person who will be remembered and missed by so many. Praying for peace and comfort for her family and friends. 

I’ll always remember your laugh - thank you for sharing it with us! I hope you all will remember it as well as you grieve.

I loved her passion for music and her loyalty to friends. I cherish the memories we have.  CR will be missed tremendously. I thank God she shined the love of Christ to all those around her.  ♥️🙏

Thinking of Caitlyn will always remind me of her “Days of Plenty” from Little Women. There are few songs that create such an emotional moment….and Caitlyn could make you really FEEL. To quote her show stopping number: “Believe that she matters. And Believe that she always will! She will always be with you. She’ll be part of the days you’ve yet to feel.”

Getting to connect with Caitlyn through theatre and choir was such a privilege. I remember the first time I heard her sing her big solo number as Marmee it brought me to tears. Light and love really shined through her when she performed. 

So very sad, Caitlyn Rose, you touched so many people in your short life and will be loved always. Our thoughts and love are with the whole family, your friends and church family . much Love Sarah, Peter and Jane xx
