Carol, You and Hye are in the center of my childhood memories, from coming to your house to get life advice, baking us cookies, giving us hot chocolate after shoveling the snow and providing Christmas Eve memories.  You are missed dearly.

Aunt Carol, you have always been a very special person in my life. You were Grandmother to us! I have so many fun memories of you. Christmas Eve traditions, amazing cooking & baking, and all of the love you shared. Today I am sad and will miss you! Our love goes out to the entire Holland family.  I remember all of those happy times celebrating with Carol and Hye.  They had a full life and I miss them.   They took us Isaacs kids in as  grandchildren (our grandparents lived far away in New York).   Carol had a heart of gold and was always smiling and having fun.  May God give strength, courage and peace to their family and loved ones.

Always having that shining smile and unconditional smile for everyone in her life. I cherish every moment I had with Aunt Carol in my heart! From Christmas dinners, to Birthdays, to just having a salad for lunch in the afternoon with her.

I remember trying to sneak 3-no maybe 6 whiskey cookies and thought that Aunt Carol wasn't looking. I never had a drill sergeant scare me more than she did. She half-smiled as her head turned around and I ran for cover!!!

MEMORIES OF AUNT CAROL:

Like so many people, my earliest memories of Aunt Carol are her on Strathmoor, baking in the kitchen. Making the prettiest lattice fruit pie. She said that she learned from her father. I was in awe of the perfection!

Aunt Carol had the prettiest house with ruffles & frills. She made everyone feel welcome, always the gracious host, serving the greatest meals.

Aunt Carol was one of the most thoughtful people. She always remembered everyone's birthday and you could always expect a card from her every year. She was one of the most loving people and one of the best cooks. Her cookbook will be in the family for many years to come and I will always remember her as the head of the family and she will always be loved and missed

"Going to Aunt Carol & Uncle Hye's home for a weekend, while Uncle Hye was traveling. She fed me incredible lunches & Dinners. Let me smoke in her car (1966 Lemans) & watch tv all night. I had a blast."

Aunt Carol-    there was no other person that had more influence on my young adult life than Aunt Carol. I can honestly say that I learned so many life lessons that Aunt Carol influenced which still influences me today. I am a better person because of her .

One of  my most recent memories is in St. Mary's hospital where I work. I went to see her late in the evening with my scrubs on. I walked in the room and said hi. She smiled at me. I asked her if she needed anything. She said no, but looked confused. I said, "Do you know me?" I took off my scrub hat and said, "It's Me, Sheila" The one who makes perogi wrong"  She said, "SHEILA"

Aunt Carol you were such a wonderful Aunt! The one thing I remember is Christmas Eve. The smell of the Briscuit & the great food!

The one thing she always taught me is family is everything even if it's a phone call away! She was always there to listen.

I will miss her greatly--I loved her so much!!

Aunt Carol was a woman of great dignity and graciousness. She had style and was nothing less than glamorous. She always looked amazing. She was the  most generous hostess- between her food, decorations and charm. She made every holiday memorable. Her voice, words, smile and grace will always be ethce in my memory. Her presence and spirit will be greatly missed.

One of my most fondest memories of Aunt Carol is when I lived with her & Uncle Hye. Every night, she would have dinner ready when Uncle Hye came home from work. We would always have salad first and then a wonderful dinner together.

When I was around 5, or so, my mom and I used to Aunt Carol's shopping, cooking & cleaning. It was about every Thursday. We used to go Shopping for her and then go to her apartment. We used to have chicken nuggets, tater tots and salad, with her for lunch. These are probably my favorite memories with my Aunt Carol!

My favorite memory of Aunt Carol was on Christmas. She would walk in and get settled in the rocking chair. She was always smiling and asked how we were, what sports I was playing, etc.. She always lit up the room and I will always miss her smile. I hope that Aunt Carol rest in peace!

My favorite memory, I've shared with Aunt Carol, is going over to visit with her. We would share lunch and I would pick up around her apartment. And on special occasions, I would set her hair in curlers and paint her nails. I will always hold on to those Memories.

Aunt Carol welcomed me from Day 1 and always made sure that Jackson and I felt like we belonged. She always made time to talk to me and I very much enjoyed all the stories she shared with me

I remember the first time I tried to make a pierogi. I was so scared as she tells me that I'm working with my great-grandfather's baking tools. Luckily, I was a natural & Aunt Carol told my mom she has been replaced by Joe & I. Aunt Carol never made me laugh more than on pierogi making days!

I have the most wonderful memories of Carol. So loving, warm and welcoming. Carol would invite me over to decorate her Christmas Tree. It is something I will never forget. Carol would also have beautiful gatherings at her home. Something I will always Cherish. Thank you for all of the Love and memories!

When he first moved from Buffalo to Michigan Carol made me feel at home. She would always have me over for the holidays and never missed sending a birthday card-including one this year.

I remember when Aunt Carol ordered some curtains and had them delivered. They were still in the box and Uncle Stanley asked her what was in the box. She to him they were drapes. He thought that she said grapes and told her to take them out of the box before they go bad and started a pond explanation process. I always thought that she and my mother looked allike in a lot of ways. When they would walk in front of you you could not tell who was who

Carol was an amazing, kind, supportive and generous person. She and Hye were our adopted grandparents as we grew up. She taught me to support and learn from differences. I will miss her.

We were neighbors in Southfield for many years. The Hollands were surrogate grandparents to our children. We spent many Holidays together. Carol was the consummate cook and hostess. We went to Disney Land on the occasion of Hye's  instillation as president of his organization. Carol was the granddad belle of the ball. She will be sadly missed. Glenda & Eli Isaacs & family.

Dare you brave to join her in making perogi, she was the inspector. Every single perogi had to receive her approval prior to entering the pan. One year, Deanne, Joe's fiance, joined us. After making her first one, Aunt Carol gave her approval. High-fives around the group. She passed inspection.

Carol was such a beautiful lady both inside and out. She welcomed us and our children into her home and we remember the many holidays and visits shared with her and Hye. I have many of her recipes written in her own hand and just last week made this season's first batch of pickles as she taught me!  Although it was more than 20 years ago that she was last here with us we remember her with fondness and great affection. May her memory be a blessing to you all.

My late husband, Sam, and I were proud to call Carol our sister-in-law.
She was warm, attractive, and a devoted wife to my brother, Hye.
Altho we were miles apart we stayed in touch these many years and I am truly sad at her passing. I know how devoted you all were to your dear aunt and I know how much she appreciated that but also be sure that all the Holland's appreciated it as well. I know you will miss her and I will too.
