Charles Evans VanVleck

Charles Evans VanVleck, age 86, of Westland, formerly of Plymouth, Michigan passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. Loving husband of 35 years to Barbara. Beloved father of Cynthia and Mark VanVleck. Proud grandfather of Derek, Angela, Jay, and Genevieve. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

Chuck graduated from Plymouth High School Class of 1955. He retired from the Plymouth Township Fire Department in 2003 with 32 years of service, including Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief and Emergency Program Manager. He was an active member of the Western Wayne County Conservation Association, the Stu Rockafellow amateur radio society, and a lifetime member of the Plymouth Elks. He was the organizer of the Plymouth Community SKYWARN weather spotters, REACT emergency communications, and PACT neighborhood patrol. He will always be remembered as someone who liked to say "yes" as a volunteer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Chuck's memory may be directed to the Salvation Army.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. A committal service and burial will immediately follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 Eight Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152.
