Daniel is survived by his Wife: Rose Marie. Children: Brian, Leslie, Kristin(RJ), John(Kristin), Julie, Steven(Kelly). Grandchildren: Jane, Grace, Adrian, Ryan, Ava.
Advocate of higher education and promoter of the arts. Graduated from U of D Jesuit high school, earned his Bachelor degree as well as Master's degree from University of Detroit, Specialist in Education from Eastern Michigan University. Shared his knowledge, talents and love of history as a teacher, administrator and baseball coach at several schools including DeLaSalle Collegiate, Livonia Public Schools, Austin Prep, Mercy College and Madonna University.
A dedicated and active member, as well as former president, of many organizations: Livonia Historical Commission, Livonia Arts Commission, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of Michigan, Michigan Association of Community and Adult Education, University Consortium of Student Teaching, Livonia Chamber of Commerce, Livonia Bicentennial committee, Oakway/Livonia Symphony, usher at St. Colette Parish, founding member of Henry Clay Pre-School Cooperative, Greenmead, winner of the First Citizen Award for the City of Livonia.
Livonia's first corneal transplant recipient and dedicated supporter of the Kellogg Eye Center at University of Michigan.
Hobbies and activities included golf, fishing, going up north, enjoying fine wine and tasting bourbon, reading, puzzles, playing cards with his grandkids, spoiling his grand pups, hosting parties darn near every week of the year and the fantastic Family Pizza nights. A snappy dresser and well-known for his snazzy Pangborn ties, quick-witted, his door was always open for lively conversation and a glass of port.
A memorial visitation for Daniel will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, Michigan with a rosary service at 5:00pm. A memorial mass will occur Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:30am at St. Colette Parish, 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, Michigan. Final visitation will be on Monday at 11:00am at the church.
