David Earl. Nilson, 68, has passed away unexpectedly.
He was born April 29, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in Livonia, Michigan from the time he was two until his passing on November 17, 2021.
With David’s usual determination, on his 16th birthday he briefly held the title of the youngest pilot to solo in the state of Michigan. He was proud of his shirt tail pilot status.
David worked on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company from the time he was 18 until he retired. He enjoyed spending time in nature, particularly boating, fishing, hunting, and vacationing at Black Lake. He was a member of the Western Wayne County Conservation Association. In addition to spending time improving his skills, and helping around the club, he spent many hours documenting club activities with his camera.
Life was often a challenge for David, and his family and friends had great admiration of his perseverance and tenacity through it all. His nephew and nieces will miss his teasing and playful nature.
David is proceeded in death by Grandparents Earl O. and Mildred M. Nilson, J. Delmer and Mabel B. Jones, his parents Robert E. and A. Marie Nilson, one Uncle, and his beloved dog Tippy.
He is survived by his sister Christina M. Keating and her four(4) children Cameron (Amanda), Kimber (Ken), Moey (Stephen), Kirsten (Isaac) all of Houston Texas. His sister Nancy C. Allen and her husband Rick of Marthasville, Missouri. Also eight Great Nephews and Nieces, an Aunt, an Uncle, and many cousins.
