David Edward Repp, born on September 5, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Edward and Helene (Pokriefka) Repp, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. He was a man of honor, duty, and profound love for his family.
David served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army, where he exhibited bravery and received several medals for his valor. His dedication to his country was a testament to his courage and patriotism.
Beyond his service, David found solace and joy in the serenity of the waters. His enthusiasm for the water took his wife and children on numerous boating adventures throughout the Great Lakes. Boating on the lake was one of his favorite pastimes; however, his real happiness came from watching his grandchildren love boating just as much as he had. Each grandchild would take turns sitting on Papa’s lap as they tooled around the waters of Lake Huron, with big smiles on their faces. The days on the water would lead them to downtime at his sanctuary, his cottage, a place where he forged countless memories with his beloved family. Building sandcastles and forts, riding the jet ski, making smores, swimming, and countless walks up and down the beach while searching for beach glass, were moments of pure bliss for David.
David cherished his role as a grandfather. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he relished every moment spent with them, showering them with unconditional love, affection, and wisdom.
David is preceded in death by one grandchild, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela, his two sons, his daughter, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, eight adoring grandchildren, and one sister.
A man of strength, honor, and unwavering devotion, David will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man of faith who inspired others on their walk with the Lord. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life lived to the fullest.
