David Frank Traina

David Frank Traina, age 65, of Northville, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his loving sister, Nancy (Michael) Phillips; his nephew, Jason (Shelly) Phillips; his niece: Wendy (Jason) Kremer; his four great-nephews: Ethan, Ryan, Brady, and Kyle; his great-niece, Alexandra; and his Golden Retriever, Layla, who he loved dearly.

David was born August 7, 1958, in Detroit, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph and Frances (Campagna) Traina.

After graduating from high school, David furthered his education at Michigan State University, where he graduated with his Master’s Degree. After completing his schooling, David devoted much of his professional life to a successful career as a manager in the healthcare industry. Dedicated to his Catholic faith, David was a parishioner and past lecture at a number of churches over the years, and was most recently a parishioner at St. James Catholic Church in Novi. In his free time, David could always be found playing a round of golf, or spending time with his beloved dog, Layla. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am, with viewing at 10:00 am, on Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W. Ten Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48374. David’s family will receive visitors at the Livonia Chapel of the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Scripture Service taking place at 6:30pm. In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation will follow. An inurnment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider contributions in David’s memory to the Rosary Shrine of St. Jude Dominican Friars, 501 Sixth Street SW, Washington DC 20024.
