Dorrie was the beloved wife of the late Frank “Don” Risko, who passed away in 1997. The two met through church and shared many wonderful adventures together throughout their marriage. Their love and partnership remained a cherished part of Dorrie’s life throughout the years.
She was the loving mother of Lisa, Lynne (Paul) Williams, and Frank “Chip” (Susan), and the cherished grandmother of Hayden and Cole. Dorrie was also very close to Don’s family and treasured the many relationships she shared with them.
Dorrie was a graduate of Patronage of St. Joseph High School in Detroit. She dedicated much of her career to helping others, working as an executive assistant at Ladywood High School and later for Spectrum Human Services. She took great pride in her work and was recognized with awards for her dedication and hard work. During her time at Ladywood, Dorrie was especially loved by the students, who fondly remembered her kindness and caring nature.
A longtime parishioner of St. Aidan Catholic Church in Livonia, Dorrie was an active member of the choir and found great joy in her faith and church community.
Dorrie had a wonderful sense of adventure and loved to travel. She explored destinations throughout the United States and traveled internationally to places including Japan and Portugal, always creating memories along the way. She was also incredibly creative and enjoyed sewing, painting, and being involved in theatre. Whether through her creativity, her travels, her work, or her relationships with others, Dorrie lived a life filled with curiosity, kindness, and purpose.
Dorrie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the love she shared so generously with those around her.
Visitation will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, with Dorrie lying in state at the church at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
