Donald George Srock

Our Beloved Father, Donald G. Srock of Livonia, age 85, passed from our world on May 28, 2017, in Canton. Don was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Srock, his adoring wife of 37 wonderful years, Doris, and his brother, Robert. Don (or, PaPa Don as we had come to call him) was the loving father of Douglas (Cheryl), Dawn (Ed), and David (Sue). Grandfather of Desiree and Drew, and adored PaPa Don by Grant & Alex Dunne.

Don was born in Detroit in 1932. He graduated Fordson High School in Dearborn in 1950. He went on to serve in the United States Army, serving in Korea. He returned to work for his Uncle at Marvin Marine. Don then went on to become a power plant engineer, and worked for Wayne County until his retirement in 1992. Most importantly, Don was a dear friend to so very many people. He was the reserved, strong, hardworking man that everyone knew they could trust and rely on. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and a great big laugh that would warm your heart. Don truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.

He was active in church throughout his life. He loved bowling, playing cards, spending quality time with his friends and family, and loved his annual trips to Drummond Island with his best buddies. We cannot express how much we will miss this steadfast loving figure in our lives. But, we have more than enough incredibly happy memories of him to last until we see him again.
