Donald was preceded in death by his beloved late wife Carol. Before Carol passed they shared 41 years of marriage. Donald and Carol are survived by their three children; Janice (the late David) Zeleji, Cheri (Rob) Spear, and Peter (Lisa) Grebeck. Donald was a beloved grandpa of; Melissa (Jeff), Michele (Chris), Jennifer (Scott), Jacob (Taylor), Matthew (Kim), Josh (Stefani), Shane, and Haley. Great Grandfather of Sheldon, Elora, Delaney, Anthony, Elias, Hendrick, and Ayden. Dear brother to Judy (the late Tom), Kathy (Jim), and the late Joan (the late Gilbert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Donald was a second generation owner of Peter's True Value Hardware which he has passed along to his children making them the third generation owning this family legacy. Before taking over the family business Donald went to serve in the United States Air Force.
Visitation for Donald will take place on Tuesday, October 1st from 3:00 pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, October 2nd from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a time of remembrance at 6:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donald's honor to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
