Donald R. Parko of Livonia, Michigan was born on July 31, 1936 and passed away peacefully on June 25, 2020 at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Marilyn, children; Nancy (Kevin) Schultz, Jeff Parko and Susan (JP) Price, grandchildren; Bailey John and Chloe Marie Schultz, siblings; Ed (Patricia) Parko and Sharon (Alan) Lee. Don is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Jim Parko.

Don was a loving and enduring husband, father, and grandfather. His highest priorities were his family, friends, and Catholic faith. In 1959, Don married the love of his life, Marilyn. Together they raised their children in Livonia, Michigan and made many great memories over the years. Don served in the U.S. Army Reserves while attending the University of Michigan. He worked as a Manufacturers’ Representative at Bourke & Associates for 25 years until he retired in 2001. He enjoyed many activities such as riding his bike, sporting events, and listening to ‘good’ music. Don gave back to his community by volunteering at St. Edith Catholic Church as an usher and longtime member, delivering Meals on Wheels and driving cancer patients to appointments. The greatest times he spent with his family and friends included trips to Europe, Africa, Australia, Alaska, and Hawaii. Don was an avid and enthusiastic Michigan football fan. He was a season ticket holder since the 1970s and enjoyed traveling with his wife and ‘football gang’ to many away games to cheer on the Maize and Blue! Don will be deeply missed by his family, friends and his church community.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Edith Catholic Church on Monday June 29th at 11:00am (in state at 10:30am). In Don's memory donations can be made to Angela Hospice or Salvation Army.

If you are unable to attend the funeral mass on Monday you can visit the St. Edith Catholic Church Facebook page where it will be streamed live.
