Donald Dominic Rende

Donald was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the time he spent with those he loved. He is survived by his two sons, Kirk (Jalene) Rende and Kelly Rende; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Rende and Alexis Rende; and his siblings, Bob Rende, Sandy (Harry) Grushe, and Sue Stanfest.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynda Marie (Pew) Rende, his parents, and his sister, Linda Smart. Donald met Lynda through mutual friends in Canada, and they were married on May 9, 1964. Together they built a life filled with love and shared many wonderful years until her passing in 2019.

An entrepreneur at heart, Donald founded his own business, System Controls, in Livonia in the early 2000s. Through his work, he demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and pride in building something of his own.

Donald had a deep appreciation for history and craftsmanship, which he expressed through his love of antiquing—particularly his interest in lamps and art. He was also a longtime and active member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Novi, where he faithfully served two terms as an elder.

Above all, Donald will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, especially the special bond he shared with his grandchildren. His legacy of love, hard work, and commitment to those closest to him will be cherished and carried forward by all who knew him.

Donald’s family will receive visitors on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, from 12:30 pm until 7:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Christ Presbyterian Church, 23455 Novi Road, Novi, Michigan 48375. A luncheon will be hosted after the funeral service at Plymouth Manor Banquet Center, located at 345 North Main Street, Plymouth, MI 48170.
