Don lived a life defined by steady dedication, quiet craftsmanship, and deep devotion to his family. He spent 32 years working as a Mold Maker and Programmer at Roush Racing Tool & Die, a company that evolved in name over the course of his long tenure but remained a constant in his working life. His career reflected the kind of precision, patience, and pride in workmanship that also showed up in everything he built and repaired outside of work.
Don is survived by his wife, Kathie Trembath. The two met as teenagers at a pool party in 1973, and shared a lifelong partnership, marrying on June 2, 1979. Their marriage spanned decades filled with family, travel, and shared memories.
He is also survived by his children, Michael (Michelle) Trembath and Ashley (Sean) Torres; and his grandchildren, Harrison, Adela, Tristan, and Jaxson. Don found great joy in being a grandfather, and time with his grandchildren was among the most meaningful parts of his life.
He is survived by his sister, Sandy Trembath; his niece, Stacey (Brandon) Kubitz; and great-nieces and nephew Amanda, Morgan, and Sebastian. He is also remembered by many cousins and extended family members.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Shirley Trembath.
Outside of work, Don enjoyed tinkering in the garage and working on cars, riding motorcycles, building models, socializing, and singing karaoke. He and Kathie also shared a love of travel, including cruises through Europe, with memories of destinations such as Rome, Germany, and the Baltics. Above all, he valued time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him lasting pride and happiness.
Donald’s life was marked by consistency, hands-on creativity, and a strong commitment to the people closest to him. He will be deeply missed.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Don’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.
