Donald Basil Tyson

Don was born to Basil and Pearl Tyson on October 8, 1932 in Crofton, Kentucky. Raised on a farm with his 8 sisters and 2 brothers. Moved to Michigan in his teens and worked at Ford Motor Company for 42 years. He retired in 1992 and became a "Snow Bird" spending the winters in North Fort Myers, Florida at Fountain View RV Park. He enjoyed the warm weather and the family and friends in the Park. The summers were spent at Lake Chemung Outdoor Resort in Howell, Michigan where he drove his golf card all over the Park talking to all his neighbors. The grand kids loved coming and spending the summer as long as Grandpa could get his nap in every day, he was okay with it too!

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice Tyson; sons Donald Jr (Nora) and Michael; brothers and sisters Herschel, Francis, Ozella, Dorothy, Esmarelda, Altabee, Sylvada, and Osboryn.

Don is survived by wife Kathy of 40 years; son Tracy; grandchildren Michael (Michelle) Nicole, Jennifer and Nehma (Sky); and great grandchildren Dylan, Lillian, Myles, Jameson, Jacob, and Matteo; sisters Germaine and Terra.

A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A funeral in state will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
