Doris Evely

She was one of three children. Doris passed away peacefully in Westland, Michigan on March 11, 2025 at the age of 95.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Thomas G. Evely, Sr. who passed away in 1986. Loving mother of Thomas Jr., and Penny. Dear "Mema" of Mark and Tommy. Cherished great-grandmother of Sonny.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Schuhardt, and her sister Elaine Barber.

Doris loved family vacations up north and taking bus trips with her daughter to casinos and other events. She enjoyed collecting "good luck charms" to take when she played Bingo. One of her favorite good luck charms was when she would find a penny. It always made her excited. Her passion was her family. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Doris was a bright light in the lives of her family. She always had a smile and kind words for everyone she met. Her house was always a warm, happy home. Everyone was welcome and there was always plenty of laughter. Everyone who spent time with her left feeling happier than they were before. She will be deeply missed.

The family of Doris Evely will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.

Her life will be celebrated with a funeral service Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:30 PM with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM. The service will be led by her nephew, Reverend Robert Evely.

Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband in Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan
