

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan C. Johnson; her parents, Lester and Matie Tarran; her brothers, Robert and William; and her sisters, Agnes and Eleanor.
Doris met her husband Allan while attending college in Ypsilanti, Michigan, in the early 1950s. Their courtship blossomed into a lifelong commitment, and they were married in 1953. Together they shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and family until Allan's passing in 1987. The memories they created together remained a treasured part of Doris's life.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found great joy in her family. She is survived by her children, Kim Johnson, Kristyn (Richard) Resconich, and Scott (Cathy) Johnson; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Tarran, Nicolas, and Natalie; and her great-grandchildren, Autumn, Eden, Jaymin, Josie, Oliver, and Tanner. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
A longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, later Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Doris's faith was an important part of her life and provided a foundation for her kindness and compassion.
Doris had a deep love of travel and embraced opportunities to explore the world. Her journeys took her throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, China, and Egypt. She cherished the experiences, friendships, and memories she gained along the way, and she enjoyed sharing stories of her adventures with family and friends.
When she was at home, Doris found happiness in simple pleasures and creative pursuits. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, and reading, hobbies through which she expressed her creativity and curiosity. Many family members and friends were fortunate recipients of her beautiful handiwork and thoughtful gifts.
Doris will be remembered for her strength, independence, and love of God and family. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a life well lived. She will be deeply missed.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 30650 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Doris’s family will receive visitors at church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan.
