

LIVONIA—On September 10, 2018, Dorothy Constance (Bonk) Pyzik passed away at the age of 86 years. Connie is lovingly remembered by husband Robert Pyzik; siblings Richard (Barbara) Bonk and Mary Ann Coopersmith, and children Christopher (Tina) Pyzik, Robin (John Shuler) Pyzik-Shuler, Paula (Robert) Scott, and Sarah (Robert) Dotto; grandchildren Aaron and Clara Shuler, Nathaniel and Noah Pyzik, Katherine and Duncan Scott, and Taylor and Lauren Dotto. Preceding her in death were parents Jacob and Anna (Dozbush) Bonk and sister Gertrude Bonk.
Connie was born in Detroit and graduated from St. Andrew’s High School. She and Bob were married on June 27, 1953. A stay at home mom for many years, Connie returned to work as an administrative assistant.
A true life-long learner, Connie had a keen interest in health and medicine, gardening, nature, music, literature, and culture. She studied several languages, never stopped taking classes, regularly finished New York Times Sunday crosswords, and was a devoted museum visitor.
A kind and generous mother, friend, neighbor, Girl Scout leader, and literacy tutor, Connie shared her love of cooking, handicrafts, and reading with many people. Favorite family collaborations were cooking traditional Polish foods for the holidays and making crib quilts for each grandchild.
A memorial program will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia. Her internment will be at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Rd. in Dearborn Heights.
