Eleanor Jarosz

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Marion Jarosz, with whom she shared many treasured years of marriage until his passing in September 2011. Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and countless memories. She was the loving mother of Laura Berger, Catherine (Gary) Weir, Barbara Marino, Robert (Janice) Jarosz, and the late Carolyn Jarosz, who passed away in 1999. Eleanor’s joy continued through her grandchildren—Austin, Kari (Alex), Karen, Hayley, Michael (Emily), David, Michelle (Kurtis), Lynn, Tyler, Julianna (Spencer), and Kelly. She is reunited in heaven with her husband Marion, her parents Albert and Michaeline, her beloved daughter Carolyn, her cherished grandson Daniel, and her brother Albert Schoen, Jr.

Before having children, Eleanor worked as a secretary at Lincoln-Mercury for 9 years. Then in 1974 she enjoyed another career working in the Human Resources dept at St Mary Hospital for 16 yrs. She also shared her talents with the Livonia Go-Getters, creating their community newsletter and joining friends for outings and events. She and Marion loved to travel, and whether at home or away, the two could often be found dancing together. In quieter moments, Eleanor enjoyed working on puzzles and other simple pastimes.

Her Catholic faith was a central part of her life. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and faithfully prayed the rosary, drawing strength and comfort from her faith through both joys and hardships.

A funeral in state for Eleanor will take place Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd., Livonia, Michigan, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Eleanor will be remembered for her strength, faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
