Dr. Evert C. Tan

Dr. Evert Tan was born to Pedro Tan Sr. and Virginia (Tan) Cornish on November 19 , 1978. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. He went on to further his education and attended the College of Dentistry, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011. Evert was a compassionate dentist, an avid fisherman, and a gifted student of philosophy, art and science. A talent at many things, he excelled in drawing, playing musical instruments, dancing, and making people laugh with his jokes and impersonations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working out at the gym. Evert was a wonderful brother, an affectionate son, a role model uncle, a loyal friend, and a faithful boyfriend.

Evert is survived by his two loving parents, Pedro Sr. and Virginia; inseparable brothers, Pedro Jr. and Douglas; proud sister Rosemarie; kind stepfather Jim Cornish; thoughtful sister-in-law Annette; supportive brother-in-law Michael Yuen; beautiful nieces Kailah and Dalia; handsome nephew Peter Jr; and devoted girlfriend Mary Nguyen.

He left us with so many wonderful memories that we will never forget, that we will always talk about , and that we will always laugh about. I'm happy that I spent a lot of time with him these past couple years but also sad at the same time that we can't spend anymore time together. I'm still looking for answers and asking why him? I am still in disbelief. I just hope he is okay wherever he is. I hope he knows we miss him and love him.
