

Floyd Frederick "Babe" Radtke was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 28, 1931 to his parents Harold and Violet Radtke. He graduated from McKenzie High School in June of 1949 and then served his country in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict from January of 1952 until December of 1953.
He married the love of his life, Doris Murray at Nativity Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1955 and would happily spend their lives together until her death in 2008. He worked for City of Detroit for the Public Lighting Commission and retired in 1985 after 37 years of dedicated service. In his free time, Floyd loved to golf and bowl and he has been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Northville, Michigan for the last 28 years of his life.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Violet, his brother Chuck, his wife Doris as well as his son Steve. He is survived by his son Tom (Cindy) Radtke, his daughter in law Pam Radtke and his three grandchildren Erin, Zak and Sommer.
Friends may visit Floyd's family during a visitation in his honor at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, located at 37000 W. Six Mile Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152 on Tuesday August 14, 2012 from 3 pm until 8 pm. The funeral home is located on the north side of Six Mile, just east of I-275 and Newburgh Road.
Funeral services will be held at his church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 Elm Street in Northville, Michigan 48167. He will lie in state on Wednesday August 15, 2012 from 10 am until the time of his funeral service at 11 am officiated by Pastor Thomas M. Lubeck. St. Paul's is located north of Main Street and West of Center Street.
Floyd will be laid to rest with Doris at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorials be made in his memory to Angela Hospice.
