Frank was born on July 29, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank James Trosky II and Carol Ann Trosky (Fleming). He was the oldest of five children. He resided in Detroit and graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1959. At Mackenzie he met his future wife Susan Marie Fulgham. He married his true love, Susan, in 1962 and they remained married throughout her life, living in Detroit, Dearborn Heights, Farmington Hills and Novi, Michigan. Frank and Susan had two daughters. Carolyn Marie Das (Trosky) was born in 1963 and Donna Ann Keenan (Trosky) was born in 1965. Frank was a loving and involved husband and father. He enjoyed reading bedtime stories to his girls, playing chess and card games with his wife, camping with family, fishing, golfing, drinking wine, watching the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers and traveling all over the United States. He loved nature. He was an avid history and music buff. Frank was a loving and involved grandpa to all of his grandchildren.
Frank got his B.A. in Finance from Wayne State University.
He worked in banking most of his career and also did some project management. His work ethic was always exceptional.
After retiring, Frank and Susan continued travels across the United States.They enjoyed trips to Disney World, The Badlands and Vicksburg amongst other places. Frank loved taking care of plants. He had indoor plants and a massive outdoor flower garden. He also grew vegetables. Being a gardener was a great joy in his life. Another great joy was music. He had very eclectic musical tastes ranging from Bob Seger and the Cowboy Junkies and to Dvorak and Beethoven. His favorite piece of classical music was Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. A family favorite inspired by him was Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
Frank James Trosky III was preceded in death by his father (Frank James Trosky II), his mother (Carol Ann Trosky), his sisters (Carol Lavin and Patricia Meija), his brother (Richard Trosky), two of his best friends (Gene Hiltz and Gene Thompson), his beloved daughter Carolyn Marie Das and his forever love, his wife (Susan Marie Trosky).
Frank is survived by his daughter (Donna Keenan), his son-in-law (Richard Das), his 4 grandchildren (Stephen Frank Das, Michael Richard Das, Sarah Jean Keenan and David James Keenan), his brother-in-law (Steven Fulgham), his sister-in-law (Debbie Fulgham) and his sister (Jayne Buczynski).
Many visited and sent cards, prayers etc. before his death. He appreciated all of it. He used the word “ecstatic” when telling his daughter how he felt about one visit he had three days before he died. The visits and kindness mattered. His family thanks you.
Frank was a Christian and attended Grace Lutheran Church regularly.
Frank was surrounded by family when he died at 4:02 pm on June 21, 2025 in Livonia, Michigan.

A Celebration of Life Open House honoring Frank will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Cowork Farmington, located at 32733 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, Michigan 48336. Family will receive guests from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Food, beverages, and adult refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon. Free parking is available on the street, behind the building, and across the street in a large public lot.
Frank will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
