Frank immigrated from Sicily to Canada with only $10 in his pocket and a determination to build a life for himself. He began working construction jobs, eventually settling in Michigan, where he continued to build both a career and a family. In the late 1960s, Frank established his own construction company, a business he took great pride in and later passed down to his son, Gerry, upon his retirement.
Frank’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He met the love of his life, Dolores (Coletti), at a dance club in Windsor, Ontario. The two married on July 1, 1961, and shared 65 years of marriage together. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who cherished the time he spent with those he loved. His grandchildren held a particularly special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment with them.
Frank had many simple pleasures that brought him happiness throughout his life. A lifelong hockey fan, he faithfully watched the Toronto Maple Leafs and always held out hope that he would see them win another Stanley Cup. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, taking trips to the casino, and spending time with his family. Frank also spoke frequently and fondly of his hometown in Sicily, sharing stories and memories of his early years there with his loved ones.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dolores; his children, Alisa (Jon) Anderson, Kristina (Maurice) Williams, and Gerry (Colleen) Vento; his grandchildren, Amy, Alexander, Anna, Sarah (Dan), Dominic, and Julia; his brother, Salvatore (Maria) Vento; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerlando and Alphonsa (Magazzu) Vento.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. Frank’s family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm, and again at Church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass at 10:30 am. A private burial will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
