Gail made her home in Livonia, Michigan, where she spent most of her life surrounded by family, friends, and her faith.
Gail earned her degree in education and began her career as a teacher. After marrying the love of her life, Larry Liedel, in 1961, she chose to devote herself to raising their family as a full-time homemaker. She took great pride in creating a loving home and caring for her husband, children and many pets, a role she cherished throughout her life.
A faithful parishioner of St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia for many years, Gail's Catholic faith was an important part of her life and guided her with compassion, kindness, and strength.
Gail found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time working in her flower gardens, where her patience and care brought beauty every year. She treasured summers at the family cabin on Lake Michigan, making countless memories with those she loved. She also looked back fondly on the many trips she shared with her sister, Lynne, to the Florida Keys, where they enjoyed time together and created lasting memories.
Above all else, Gail was devoted to her family. She is survived by her loving son, Kevin (Monique) Liedel; her cherished grandchildren, Paul, Kyle, Jessica, Emily, and Elizabeth; and her beloved sister, Lynne (Harry) Howes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillian (Kenworthy) Herbstreit; her beloved husband, Larry Liedel, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1998; and her three sons, Michael, Paul and Eric.
Gail will be remembered for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and devotion to her family. Her kindness touched all who knew her, and the memories she leaves behind will be treasured by her family and friends for generations to come.
In accordance with Gail’s wishes, cremation will take place.
