George Rand

George was 85 years old when he went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Doris to whom he married March 30, 1946 at the First United Methodist Church in Highland Park, Michigan. He is also survived by children, William Lee Rand of Southfield, Michigan and Maui, Hawaii; Larry George Rand (Cherlyn) of Livonia, Michigan; Margaret Ellen Rand of Westland, Michigan and Mary Anne Plano of Mountain View, California.

Grandchildren are Jennifer Lynn Davidson (Mark) of Westland, Michigan and Jeffrey William Rand (Amy) of Livonia, Michigan. Arrangements under the direction of Harry J Will Funeral Homes, Livonia, MI.

Great Grandchildren are Jeffrey William Rand II and Jake Montgomery Rand.

George is also survived by his two sisters, Mildred Marvin and Gertrude Czaykowski of Grand Rapids, Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

George was born and raised on a farm near Cadillac, Michigan on September 22, 1926. At an early age he moved to Detroit and trained as an auto mechanic. He retired from Mich Con in 1988.

George was a member of the Blue Flame Club and Michigan Treasure Hunters. He was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton where he was in the Adult Bible Fellowship, Jet Set and the ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out).
