

Harold John Bond, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026 at his son’s home. Born on August 2, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, to Herbert and Olive Bond, Harold lived a full and devoted life centered on family, service, and the outdoors.
Harold built a successful career as an international software manager at Burroughs Corporation, a role he held for many years before his retirement. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Harold proudly served his community as a Livonia Reserve Police Officer. He could be seen patrolling on his motorcycle at special festivals.
A creative craftsman, Harold was skilled in woodworking, making his own wooden motor boat when he was a teenager. He continued to build and weld in his workshop into his nineties. He also found great pleasure in spending time in nature, fishing, collecting firearms, and reloading ammunition for hunting. Harold had a special fondness for John Deere tractors and collected several, providing hayrides for schools, churches & small parties. Friends also enjoyed the landscaping help that Harold provided with his tractors.
Above all, Harold cherished his family. He leaves behind his loving children: Darold (Beverly) Bond, Gail (Douglas) Duncan, Kenneth (Heather) Bond, and David (Thomasa) Bond. He was a proud grandfather to Jennifer, Lyndsey, Kathy, Corey, Ben, Jonny, Laura, Joshua, Robert, Andrew, Ben, Kenny, Maritza, Ashley, DJ, and grand niece Heather. His legacy lives on through each of them and his eight great grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Olive Bond; and his sister Irene. His first wife, Joann, the mother of his children passed in 1970. His second wife, Irene, in 2013.
He will be remembered for his helpful attitude , strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, located at 37000 W Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI, 48152, on February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on February 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
