Harriettee E. Williams, was born in Detroit, MI on September 8,1935, the only child to Harriettee (Betty) David (Kitto-Tyler) and Harry Lincoln Kitto. They later moved to Troy. She attended County Line Elementary School and Clawson High School where she made many lifelong friends. Harriettee enjoyed music, dance and performance of all kinds, and she learned, and loved to tap dance from an early age.
After high school Harriettee attended and worked at Metropolitan United Methodist Church. She met and married Harold (Ken) Williams at a church bowling “Mixer”. They were married June 28, 1958, and lived in Dearborn, Westland and Livonia. Harriettee was a homemaker and beautician. She adored her children Mark (Karen) Williams and Claudia (Lori Kilen) Williams. Harriettee was a proud and loving Grammy to Noel (Kevin) Fives and Erica (Theo) Rabban, and Great-Grammy to Francis and Grace.
Harriettee and Ken were married for 20 years. She always felt the Williams’ (Claude & Margaret) and the Bartz’s Curt, Jeanette, Kathryn (Susan, AJ, Elisa) and Curtis (Dorthea, Tyler, Aliya) were her dear family throughout her life.
At age 40 Harriette enrolled at Schoolcraft College, then University of Michigan to complete her nursing degree. She graduated as a Registered Nurse and worked at Botsford Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital, and then for many years at Beaumont Hospital where she retired.
Harriettee was a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister-in-Law, dedicated nurse, friend, hair stylist, amateur interior decorator, and tap dancer. A quiet introvert, she enjoyed time with family and her monthly lunches with her friends from Clawson High School, and attending special events, musicals and plays with friends from Beaumont. One of the highlights of her life was a trip to England and France with the Jeanette Bartz and the Methodist Choir. She loved snuggling with her cat Phoebe and reading good books. Harriettee was a dedicated caregiver. We have all been enriched by her giving heart. She will be greatly missed.
