

Hedwig (Heddy) Jacobites, wife of the late Bernard Jacobites, age 90 of Northville, MI, peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She is predeceased by her daughter Patricia Jacobites.
She leaves her daughter Deborah Greer, daughter Roberta Greene and spouse Bill, son Bernard Jacobites and wife Julie, son Joseph Jacobites and wife Leslie, daughter Julie Maher and spouse Pat. Also, her grandchildren, Kirsty Greer and Tyler, Mark St. Amour and Clara, Katherine Greene, Cameron Greene, Cassie Lawson and Robbie, Christine Jacobites, Rachel Jacobites, Kayla Leo and Josh, Holly Parker and Kyle, Jack Maher, Mike Maher and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9:30am with a service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. Colette Church in Livonia, MI.
Because of Heddy’s involvement with and in remembrance of their sister, Patty, the family is requesting donations be made to the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
Heddy lived in Michigan her entire life, growing up in Detroit and raising her family in Metropolitan Detroit area. She enjoyed travelling, playing bridge, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Bernard made several cross country road trips and enjoyed playing golf in their retirement in Gaylord, MI.
Heddy had a talent for making beautiful cross-stitch samplers, was an avid reader and a serious Bridge player. She worked in sales at Hudsons and was involved with NAMI hoping to help find a cure for mental illness. She was a long time Detroit sports fan, her favorite being football and basketball.
As a 20th century woman, Heddy loved and supported her husband. She lived her life and raised her children with love, a sense of fairness, compassion and discipline. She maintained a high standard of respect for herself, her family and the world. She tried to make this world a better place. Her family knows she certainly did.
