Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Constantine and Eugenia Madias; her beloved husband of 59 years, Peter Hountras; brother Nicholas Madias; sister Maritsa (husband Gus) Loizos; and nieces Irene (Loizos) Scarvelis and Markella (Loizos) Matheos. She is and will be lovingly remembered by her children John (wife Nancy), and Dean (wife Ereni); grandsons Peter (wife Stacy), Nicholas (wife Lauren), and David Hountras; and great-grandchildren Jaina, Stella, Boaz, and Reuben Hountras. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Helen will always be remembered for her numerous and magnanimous Godly qualities and virtuous character, empowered by the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. She was unconditionally loving and forgiving, demonstrating endless kindness, giving, and generosity. She was a loyal and faithful servant of God, family, friends, neighbors, and the Church Body of Christ. Helen always stood in the gap to fulfill the needs of others above herself and was a staunch and unceasing prayer warrior. She always encouraged others through life’s difficulties and challenges, offering timely, genuine, and sincere compliments.
Helen displayed unwavering integrity, relentless positivity, and was an eternal optimist who enjoyed sharing a good sense of humor with others. She was a humble, meek, and gentle role model and witness of Jesus Christ, ever testifying to the joy of the Lord as her strength. Glorifying God in all her thoughts, words, and deeds, Helen loved God and her “neighbors” with all her heart, mind, soul, and strength, and was the epitome of a life well lived in the mighty Name of Jesus. Enter into thy rest, thou good and faithful servant of God. May your memory be eternal.
