Henry was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 9, 1928 to Joseph and Fannie Ruiz. He was one of six children.
Henry was the beloved best friend and life-long companion of Belva Lewis. Loving step-father of Renee (Levi) Summers. Predeceased by his parents and his five siblings.
Henry retired as a Machinist after 26 years from Chrysler. He was a United States Army veteran and served proudly in the Korean War. Henry loved classical music, especially opera. He also enjoyed good food and dining out. His favorite restaurant was Korca's in Livonia.
Henry had a love of animals and enjoyed documentaries about nature on public television. Henry had a great sense of humor and a kind heart, he will be deeply missed.
Henry will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery with honors on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00pm.
