Isa met his wife, Seham, in Palestine, and they married in 1967 before immigrating to the United States together. They built a life centered around family, love, and strong values.
Isa was especially proud of his 34-year career with the City of Detroit, where he served as Deputy Director of Elections until his retirement. He lived by the principles of integrity, honesty, respect, and fairness, which he hoped others would learn from him.
Above all, Isa loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Seham; his children, George (Koreen) Azzouz and Linda (Danny) El-Zaghir; grandchildren Hana El-Zaghir and Jana El-Zaghir; and sister, Suad Ghannam.
In his free time, Isa enjoyed playing poker and reading a good book. When asked how he hoped to be remembered, he said, “A fair and honest man who loved his family more than anything.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Khalil and Jamileh Azzouz, and his brother, Musa Azzouz.
Isa will be deeply missed and remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the St Mary Antiochian Orthodox Basilica, 18200 Merriman Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Isa’s family will receive visitors at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the Service at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, Michigan.
