Jamal was a pharmacist for over 50 years graduated with a degree from Wayne State University. He was a smart business man and owed two pharmacies serving the communities of Detroit and Dearborn. Jamal served his country with his service in the US Navy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jamal’s pride and joy were his five grandchildren and spending time with them.
Jamal lived a great life and was loved and respected by all. He loved the church, cherished time with his family and friends and traveling. Jamal biggest hobby was owning race horses. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the race track watching the horses.
Jamal is survived by his wife, Raghdeh Kakish; son Dr. Edward (Ghada) Kakish; son Nabeal (Randa) Kakish; daughter Rita (Anthony) Gajewski; and daughter Dr. Dina Kakish; and grandchildren Alana, Layth, Maia, Zaid and Leah.
Jamal was preceded in death by; father Saad Kakish and mother Martha Khader.
A visitation for Jamal will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Basilica of St Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 18100 Merriman Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with a trisagion at 8:00 PM. A funeral in state will occur Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM, 18100 Merriman Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with the funeral service at 11:00 AM. A burial will occur at Parkview Memorial Gardens, Livonia, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jamal's memory may be made to Basilica of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Building Fund, 18200 Merriman Rd, Livonia, Michigan US.
