James A. Lovett was born April 10, 1936, to Clarence and Reba Lovett. He passed away on February 6, 2023, at age 86. Jim grew up in a large family in Macomb, Mississippi. There was a total of 11 in their household (six brothers and three sisters). His surviving siblings are Mary and Patricia Lovett.
He was the beloved husband of Marlene for 57 years. Loving father to James A. Lovett Jr. (Laurie) and Lorene Nolan (Patrick). Dear papa to Brendan and Natalie Lovett. Jim loved his family and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father and was so proud of his grandchildren.
Jim was an Air Force veteran and retired from the trucking industry in 1989 from Alvan Motor Freight. He was an active church member and served in the choir and bus ministry for many years prior to retirement at Temple Baptist and Northridge Church.
He will be remembered for the man he was to his family and friends. Always willing to help and lend a hand wherever he was needed.
Visitation, Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home-Livonia. Funeral service, Saturday February 11, 2023 at 1:00PM followed by a meal at the funeral home. Please RSVP at [email protected] if you will be joining the family for the memorial meal.
