James R. Reeve

He is survived by his loving daughters, Jennifer Reeve and Carolyn Kowalik (husband Bobby, the son he always wanted); brother, John Reeve (wife, Bonnie); niece, Lisa Radtke; nephew, Jeff Reeve; and great-nephew, Jonathan Radtke. He will be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in passing by his wife, Eleanor, and his parents, Robert and Julie.

James graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. He retired at age 54 as a safety engineer and enjoyed the past thirty years doing things he loved.

To say Jim had an adventurous spirit would be putting it lightly. He ran 758 marathons and ultra-marathons. Within the required two-year time span, Jim completed the 50-states and DC Marathon Challenge. He loved backcountry camping, driving to various states such as Alaska with no air conditioning, and finding a camping spot near the railroad tracks to hear the trains go by. He hated the cold, so he enjoyed wintering in South Padre Island, TX, and Celebration, FL. He also spent time at his home in Maryland near the Potomac, where he would run on the Towpath and visit Harper’s Ferry and Civil War Reenactments. Jim also had a sweet tooth, enjoying donuts, cookies, butter pecan ice cream and other delicious bites. Most importantly, Jim took pride in spending time with family and friends, partaking in a cold beer (or two) now and again.
