Jerome (Jerry) Sheedy of Northville, passed on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. On December 2, 1939, Jerry was born to John and Mary (Gallagher) in Detroit, MI. The second youngest of six, he was predeceased to his siblings, Jim, Jack, Marilyn Sauve (Loren), Patricia Dineen (Bill), and Kevin. He Is loved, cherished, and survived by his loving wife of 56 years Barb (Mallon); his two children Dean and Lori Papler (Michael); his seven grandchildren, Katelyn Loney (Mitchell), Colin, Kylie, Conor, Sydney, Owen and Samantha, and his great-grandchild, Callahan Loney (who called him Bapa)! Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
After serving in the United States Army, Jerry spent 30 plus years at Ford Motor Company retiring in 1998. He loved to hunt; however, golf was his greatest joy traveling around the country with a childhood friend who preceded him in death approximately three years ago.
All those that knew and loved him felt truly blessed. He was someone who overcame many obstacles with self-courage and confidence to fight and overcome. During the times when hope seemed minimal, our family's love and support and the best medical team encouraged and inspired Jerry through his toughest battles. His faith was his anchor! The guy with the ‘twinkle in his eyes” battle came to an end, and we ask that you join us to remember his time with us. To many, the shamrock symbolizes Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; to many others, it also is a symbol of Faith, Hope, and Love! Jerry exemplified all of these!
