Joan was born September 8, 1933, in Ellison Ridge, Mississippi, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Dewey and Clarice (Sullivan) Eaves. Joan was married to the love of her life, Gerald Parrish in 1960, and the two shared many wonderful years together until Gerald’s passing in 2006. Joan was a wonderful homemaker throughout her life, and enjoyed taking care of her family and raising her two children. In her free time, Joan could always be found working on one of her many jewelry projects. She held fond memories of the time she spent at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market where she had a booth selling vintage jewelry and antiques – often found at estate sales, which were another hobby of hers. Joan was a talented artist and loved to paint. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Clarice; her beloved husband, Gerald Parrish; and five of her siblings: Dewey Burkes Eaves, Jean Gentry, Peggy Patterson, Ethel Sennett, and Jerry Eaves.
