John Frederick Drews

John was a proud veteran. He served honorably with the Army's 13th Airborne Division during WWII. Following his discharge from the Army he went to work as a surveyor for the City of Detroit. A hardworking and honorable man, John worked for the City for 40 years before his retirement.

On July 21, 1944 John married the love of his life Lily. Together they enjoyed 73 years of marriage. He was the cherished father of Linda (Stephen) Gibson, Kathy (Greg) Sorrentino, Laura (Kim) Gorman and the late Stephen Drews. Proud grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Eric, Andrew, Jolyon, Natalie, Lauren, Lindsey and Christopher and great-grandfather of 9. John was preceded in death by his dear sister Nathalie Drews.

The Drews family will receive guests for visitation on Wednesday July 20, 2016 from 4-8 pm and on Thursday July 21, 2016 from 11 am until the time of his funeral service, 12 noon, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
