John Wayne Lewandowski

John spent his professional life doing what he was passionate about working with musical instruments. He began his career as an instrument repair technician at Hammel Music in Livonia, where he also met the love of his life, Janine. The two married approximately 45 years ago and shared a life filled with family, love, and many cherished memories. John later worked at several other music shops before ultimately retiring from Hewitts Music in Dearborn, where he spent many years honing his craft.

Outside of work, John enjoyed the simple things that made life special. He adored his cats, Fritz and Cleo, and could often be found talking about his beloved pets. He especially enjoyed walleye fishing on Lake Erie, where he made many fond memories. He also treasured family camping trips up north to Alpena, memories that remained special to him throughout his life.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janine; his son, Jeffrey (Kaci) Lewandowski; his brother, Dean (Rose) Lewandowski; his brother-in-law, Michael (Robin) Nyeste; and his sister-in-law, Lisa (Dan) Loftus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Lois (Bailey) Lewandowski, and his brother, Larry Lewandowski.

John will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His love of family, his dedication to his craft, and the memories he created along the way will remain in their hearts.

In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation will take place. No public memorial services have been scheduled.
