

John Rowe was born in Tavistock, Devon, England in 1921. His family moved to Detroit, Michigan in the mid-20s seeking work in the auto industry. He became a U.S. citizen. He graduated from Detroit Mackenzie High School in 1940 and began college. After Pearl Harbor in 1941 he was called up to the U.S. army and served from 1942-1945; most of that time was at a B-17 base on the North Sea, in England, in the Army-Air Corp, as a radio man in
the control tower. It was an experience that affected him so profoundly that he rarely spoke of it until his last few years.
After the war, he resumed college and earned his B.S. in accounting. He met the love of his life, Norma Clendenning, in London, Ontario visiting family friends. They married in 1947, moved to Detroit where he passed his boards and earned his CPA. They were married 68 years until she passed in 2015. He worked as a CPA, the work he loved, until he was 70 years old. He mastered the internet and and remained an online “day trader” in the stock market until late 2016.
Survived by loving children Susan (Keith) Kobet and Nancy (Gary) Dinger; four grandchildren, Christopher Kobet, Erin (Jason Camillo) Kobet, Kristyn (Barry) Schumacher, John Dinger. Great Granddaughters, Susan, Clare, and Kaitlyn Kobet and Everly Camillo.

He will be laid to rest after a Celebration of Life that will be held this spring in Blenheim, Ontario.
